Community of Practice

Flourish in Community

Grounded in Two-Eyed Seeing, our Communities of Practice recognize that understanding grows through relationship, curiosity, and the respectful exchange of diverse ways of knowing. We believe meaningful learning emerges when practitioners, researchers, lived experience experts, knowledge keepers, and curious learners come together in shared inquiry.

Embrace the willingness to let a good question destabilize a cherished idea.

Through dialogue, reflection, and conscious listening, we seek to strengthen connection, honour diverse perspectives, and support the ethical, compassionate, and relational evolution of equine-facilitated services.

What are Communities of Practice?

Some questions are too important to explore alone.

Developing as an equine-facilitated practitioner, equestrian, horse caretaker, or lifelong learner is about more than acquiring information. It is an ongoing process of inquiry, reflection, relationship, and growth.

Community of Practice exists to create places where people can learn together, challenge assumptions, and explore the questions that matter most.

The goal is to create opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and discovery that support greater congruence between what we believe, what we value, and what we do.

Who am I becoming as a practitioner?

Developing as an equine-facilitated practitioner is about more than learning techniques or accumulating certifications. It is an ongoing process of discovering who you are as a practitioner, how you understand horses, and what kind of relationships you hope to cultivate within your work.

This Community of Practice creates opportunities for reflection, dialogue, mentorship, and shared inquiry among those working at the intersection of horses and humans.

EQUESTRIANS

Who am I becoming through my relationship with horses?

Being an equestrian is about more than riding. It is a journey shaped by partnership, wellbeing, confidence, disappointment, growth, and the countless lessons horses invite us to learn along the way.

This Community of Practice creates space to explore the questions, experiences, and relationships that emerge through a life lived alongside horses.

What do we owe the horse?

Living and working alongside horses invites us into ongoing questions about welfare, stewardship, sentience, relationship, and what we owe the animals in our care.

This Community of Practice brings together horse owners, caretakers, advocates, and curious learners seeking thoughtful dialogue, shared learning, and deeper understanding of horses and horse-human relationships.

Sometimes the most valuable outcome is not finding the answer, but discovering a better question.

Understanding rarely emerges all at once. Wanderings is a space for curiosity, reflection, and shared inquiry—a place to explore questions, challenge assumptions, and discover what emerges through relationship with horses, people, ideas, and the world around us.

Come wander for a while and see where the journey leads.

Khandi agrees that books and treats are synonyms.
