UNDERSTANDING EQUINE SENTIENCE: How do we understand the experiences of beings who cannot tell us in words?
Together, we will examine what science can—and cannot—tell us about the inner lives of horses. We will consider how our understanding of horses continues to evolve and what it means for horse-human relationships.
EQUINE CONSENT: What changes when we begin looking for the horse’s answer?
If horses are sentient beings with their own experiences, preferences, and perspectives, what role should choice and participation play within horse-human relationships?
RECIPROCITY: Horses give so much to us, what do we owe them in return?
